BOTB Semifinalist - Balant: A Beginning, by Sam Smith

Balant: A Beginning, by Sam Smith

The first in a 5 book SF series, Towards the unMaking of Heaven, Balant: A Beginning is the tale of three young spacemen - Dag Olvess, Malamud Bey and Pi Pandy (the narrator) - who get marooned on a planet. To survive, not only do they have to adapt to a cave-dwelling planetary life, but they also have to deal with wild creatures, savages, slave traders and the other space species on the planet, the Nautili.

A boy's own adventure.
